The New Inspirational Craze... Nikoleye!?!?

Get to Know The New Inspirational Artist on the EASTCOAST!! Nikoleye!

Find out what the BUZZ is about and who Nikoleye is and what lead him to be the person he is today!

Check out his first single "Victorius Pt. II" from his forthcoming album The Wilderness Project

First tell me, who is Nikoleye?

Haha wow who is Nikoleye. I would say Nikoleye is a hardcore speak his mind go hard for Christ artist. He is compassionate, determined, very persistent, creative, genuine, unique and very original. I'm a musician, Iove the piano. I'm a loving father. I'm a real family man. My fav food is Italian food I don't eat pork or red meat though. I work out like to stay in shape. Love being fly think my swag is crazy. But I'm down to earth love having fun and enjoying life.

Please tell me how did the name Nikoleye evolve?

The way I came up with the name Nikoleye is crazy. When I was rapping secular they called me Hot Niks. Coming up in the church reading and studying anything dealing with the ends times caught my attention. You know how the old saints would always say these are the last days.(haha) but a friend of mine at work had the left behind books on recorded books. So working all day would be boring and we really couldn't read the books so I was like you mind if I listen. So listening to the books was crazy it really grabbed my attention. Of course I ended up reading them as well. (haha) letting you know so yaw won't be like he don't read he listen.(haha) but anyway the twist is this. The character that played the anti-Christ name was Nicolai Carpathia. I know I know why take the name of the anti-Christ. I just had the mental to turn something that would be considered bad and make it good. Being as though we are in a spiritual war and you have rappers calling themselves god and feeding poison to our people. I decided I was anti to the self genocide being created through our music. So I was like they call themselves god of rap I'll represent the true living God Jesus but take the name of the anti in that book but make it good. I know that's crazy but that's how I came about giving myself the name Nikoleye. And for those that haven't read the left behind books read them they are really good. They should cut me a check for that promotion haha.

What lead you to wanting to rap/sing?

Wow, well I've always had a passion for music. I actually started out playing the piano as a kid in church. And I was always that kid at school that would make beats on the table at lunch or in class. Nobody could rock it how I rocked it on the lunch tables.(haha) so all the rappers would be like I want him the make the beat. Not knowing I would end up producing I remember when being out there me and my boys were doing something we shouldn't have been doing. (blowing) that's all I'll say but thank God for deliverance. They came at me like don't you got a keyboard. Don't you play the piano. I was like yea why. So they were like yo go get it and try to make a beat and we'll rap. That was my boy Breeze and ILL Will haha. So I started out as a producer. I never had the desire to be a rapper. It started out all in fun just something to do until we realized we were actually good at this. I would say my boy Breeze was the one that really pushed me into rapping. He started a little battle rap that we look back on now like yo we were crazy haha. So that's how I really started rapping I had to defend myself haha. So shout out to my homie Breeze and my brother Tight for giving me that push. But ever since then I've been rapping and producing music. Started all in the basement on East 27th street. (my block)
What is your musical background?

My musical background is very diverse. I love all music. But of course I started in the church and hip hop is what I do.
What are your songs about? How would you describe your music to people?

My songs are very spiritual. It still has flashy swag in it because it's who I am. I would say that my music has a strong powerful message needed for this time. I come off spiritual, political and do true love songs as well.
Do you write your own songs?

Yes I write and produce all my music. I don't like producing all my music but right now until I work with producers it's all me.
Who are your musical influences?

To be honest right now I can say I'm only influenced by God. When I was young and in the world I would say 2 PAC was my all time fav. I would throw Nas, Common and Mos Def in there. Anyone with a strong flow and positive message I was always down with.
Who would you say is your fan and/or customer base?

I think that my fan base would be anyone who like real music. I think my music ranges to all age groups and races. I think my customer base could be real cats in the streets or locked up as well as people that's into church or just live positive lifestyles. All colors could rock out with me.
What do you think about the current state of music as a whole today?
I would say music right now is in the danger zone. I've really seen no growth or originality in the last 10 years or more. Everyone talks about the same thing and it's no separation at all. Hip Hop and R&B are like one. I remember listening to R&B and you wouldn't have to worry about a Lil wayne or drake coming in with a verse messing up the flow of the song. (haha) I think the message in the music represents nothing but poison. I mean you have a slight few out there that is positive but the mainstream artist that's eating are promoting self destruction. So I'm really not a big fan of today's music.

What are your immediate music career goals?

The main goal is to take over. Be a major player in the game but representing Christ. I mean why settle I want to be used great by God and make a major impact. I think my style of music is def needed and I would bring it the right way.
What do you enjoy most about performing?

Haha what I like most about performing is how everyone is looking at you like wow I had no idea he would be like that. I just enjoy getting people hype and having fun. It's the challenge of getting their attention and keeping it.
Are you working on any current projects?

Yes I'm actually finishing my 1st project in the gospel hip hop lane. The album is called "The Wilderness Project" it's release date is 10/7/12. So be on the lookout for that it's real powerful fun and good food for the soul.
What would you like people to gain from listening to your music?

I would 1st like them to gain relationship with God. That's what it's all about to me winning souls for Christ. It's so many lost out here that's looking for someone to lead the way in a way they can relate to. So that's the main thing I want them to gain. I also want to make music that's effective for any generation. I want someone to be able to put my albums on 20 years from now and they have the ability to receive change and a relationship with God.

If your not truely interested, then why continue to deal with a Person???

Today I awoke with so much on my mind...I got on the phone with my "Bestie" and we started sharing stories of  staying in an unhealthy or unhappy relationship.  They complain about the person, fight with the person, know in their mind that they have NO intention on marrying or even trying to have a family with the person, basically in their heart of hearts....they are not interested.

So what makes a person continue to stay around?   Is it that, they are using them? Do they feel that they will not be able to find another with the qualities that the person whom they're with has? Is it that they're at the point to where they are just tired of the dating process? Whatever the reason, I feel that a lot of unhappiness would be prevented if people recognized in the beginning that the person whom they are with is not what the want.  And, that they should let go and move on so that they can experience true happiness otherwise you waste the life that has been given to you on another human being.

In the end, why go through the nonsense when you REALLY don't have to?

::Real Beauty is More than Skin Deep::

In this day in age, Is Beauty really skin deep when it comes to dating?

Based on the recent conversations that i've had with others and just sitting back an observing has true beauty become over-rated??  Are people nowadays so shallow that the only important thing to them is how long someone's hair is, the shade of their skin, how tall they are, I can go on and on but rather not waste my time on it.

It's very disappointing that relationships are no longer filled with substance, which in the end causes them to fail because of the shallow observations that were made in the beginning. Although initial attraction is important....Getting to know a person or maybe I should say actually wanting to learn a person inside and out shoud be priority NUMBER ONE, rather than how they will look standing next you.

  • Beauty knows a Real smile.
  • Beauty is in the Eyes.
  • Beauty is in a hug and touch.
  • Beauty knows actions.
  • Beauty is a reflection of your past.
  • Beauty knows tears.
  • Beauty know fears.
  • Beauty knows likes and dislikes.
  • Beauty knows YOU.
So do you know TRUE Beauty?

My Thoughts Today!

Today I woke up with a different perspective on life and how I deal with different situations that may arise.  I believe this is stemming from the confirmation that I received in Bible Study last night. I now know that God is where I want to be.  And, although i knew this, I always let my personal wants with the world get in the way of what God really has for me.

I can truly say that I am at peace with my life and my wants and needs are not important.  God is what is important and I feel that everything else will eventually fall into place for me. Today I reflected back on these past few months and really stood back and analyzed and realized who and what I have been dealing with. And, many things have not been good for me.  But, now I will approach everything with positivity and weed out everything that is not right for me.  The past couple nights, I laid down and listen to the song that always has hit me emotionally ever since I was 8 years old, which is Quincy Jones Setembro (Brazilian Wedding Song by Take 6).  This is the song that I used to listen to as a little girl and imagine so many things such as walking down the aisle to the man whom I would adore.  I still hold on to that dream of pure happiness...And I feel that one day God will place the man in my life who understands me and respects my children.

One verse that I will begin to say every night is from John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Its my comfort and where I want to be.

Younger Men Dating Older Women (For Mature Audiences ONLY)

It's starting to become more apparent to me that Younger men are dating Older women!!  Why the sudden change??? I've asked around and the answers are somewhat surprising.

First off, men feel that the younger generation of women are lacking the class that the older ones possess. Most young women nowadays seem to really be into the material and physical attributes that a man has.  And, typically they have no problem in showing it!!! And, considering what I have seen first hand....I completely agree with some of the viewpoints of the men.  Young women feel that they have to dress slutty to get the attention of a man or come off so aggressive to where they tend to make themselves look more slutty than attractive.  I feel that young women nowadays do not realize that they do not have to demean themselves in order to be sexy.  The one thing that is the sexiest of all is something that God gave all of us.... which is a brain! The more mentally stimmulating and less slutty you appear the more attractive you can be to a man.

Secondly, young men feel that women who are older, pretty much have their life in order and are mature, experienced and don't have time for the childish games that are played by young women. To them that's sexy in its own right... to be older, have a career, not play games, and still dress sexy without looking scandalous......AND, lets not forget ....Still looks GOOD for their age!!!

It seems that many couples in Hollywood are taking on this NEW trend... Mariah and Nick, Demi and Ashton, and Kourtney and Scott.....So are the reasons mentioned, why the new group of Cougars/Panthers are growing day by day???   Or, are we following Hollywood's new trend??  Or, is it simply true love ??

I'm getting the feeling that we will soon see this trend grow more and more as time goes by....

Til next time.... stay tuned as to why Older Women are dating the younger Men.  AND, not that im THAT old we do have our reasons!!

U Say U Want it BUT Do U REALLY!!!

Everyday I have conversations with men and women and the topic is pretty consistent across the board. 'RELATIONSHIPS' ... Both sides say they want marriage or they're in a marriage. Either a man is saying that they're girlfriend/wife isn't giving them what they want whether its conversation, sex, cooking, cleaning, or attention. The women are saying that they're boyfriend/husband isn't providing as they should, be attentive, not listening or giving them the needed affection and really finding who they are as a person. I myself have struggled with this in relationships and at the end of every conversation i find myself saying " U Say U want it but do you REALLY"???? I think everyone who is in a relationship needs to take a step back and really ask themselves that question.

Men:

Women want a man who is ATTENTIVE (women are emotional beings and we need that man to show his interest in us with being present, a distant man will 'never' have a successful relationship because with him being so distant it doesn't allow for growth in the relationship).

A MAN WILLING TO GET TO KNOW THEM (Understanding the likes of a woman, like what type of music they like, do they enjoy live shows, sporting events, traveling...but this is kicker don't just ask these questions in the beginning of a relationship to say you asked actually act on it...show her that you listened and that you want to enjoy and learn her not only learn her but EXPERIENCE her).

LISTEN (to a certain extent, We understand that your not one of the girls and your listening skills will only go so far. This is so important because sometimes women want to confide in their spouse rather than a friend and they want to know that they will always have that listening ear where its not forced).

SPIRITUALITY (I truly believe that having a spiritual presence is key to being successful, pray together, build your spiritual knowledge together, but have it as a forefront to everything you do).

Women:

CONVERSATION (Men want to come home and be able to look at you as there outlet from the stress that had to deal with at work. Instead try listening first and engaging in conversation, let him know that you are there for him).

SEX (a stressed/tired/angry women immediately refrains from having sex with their husband when things are rough and although that is an emotional and physical moment shared between the both of you understand that refraining it only makes things MORE complicated. Instead put your all into the relationship to try to resolve the outstanding issues that you may have. Refraining allows a small window of opportunity for cheating to occur on both sides of the relationship which will then bring in unbearable hurt and pain. When working on the issues when it was on a smaller scale could have been resolved).

COOKING AND CLEANING (OMG I don't know how many times I've heard from men how they've encountered women who are lazy and think they too good to cook and clean. The whole attitude of if you want the house clean, you clean it or if you want to eat then cook , is SO out the window. I'm not saying to be ANY ONES slave but to compromise, be willing to make a meal and keep the house in order...I mean seriously who wants to live in a STINKY house. As long as the man isn't taking advantage and intentionally leaving stuff around because he knows you're willing to pick it up then I see nothing wrong with keeping an orderly home).

ATTENTION (Be attentive, show interest in what he likes and try to incorpoarate those things in your relationship. Be affectionate and remind him of why you started dating, and i know it can be hard at times but dont ever lose the sweetheart that every woman posses, we are there to nurture, comfort, love, and care).

A PROVIDING MAN (There are times where a man may not be at their full potential when it comes to providing but try to work with him and not against him. See if there is way for you to help him reach his goal. Everyone has a time when they struggle, so don't put him down build success drives from MOTIVATION not by a person who is UNMOTIVATED).

Keep it fun and again know to keep God at the forefront of your relationship...work with him and not against!

Relationships are not always EASY, so before you get to deep ask yourself if you REALLY want it!

Til' next time!
